EARL BARTON DIES OF HEART ATTACK AT GUILFORD LAKE

(AUG. 17, 1941)

   Earl M. Barton, 56, painter of this community for many years, died suddenly at Guilford Lake, Sunday afternoon while standing on the shore of the lake with his wife and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dibble.  A heart attack was the cause of death and he expired before a physician could arrive.

   Mr. Barton was born at Greene, September 25, 1884, the son of Alfred and Amodel Beardsley Barton.  He married Ethel D. Jones and they made their home in Oxford for many years, residing in the Dibble house on Clinton Street.

   Surviving besides his widow are two brothers, Arthur of Oxford, and Edward of Brisben, and one sister, Mrs. Edward Stiles, of Coventry.  Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Seymour Funeral Home.  The Rev. Howard F. Deller officiated and burial was in Coventry cemetery.
