ELLEN D. CLAPPER

   The funeral of Mrs. Ellen D. Clapper, whose death occurred Thursday, Feb. 19, was held Saturday, February 21, at 1 o'clock from the Seymour Funeral Home.

   Mrs. Clapper was born in Smithville, June 30, 1854, the daughter of John and Ellen McKay Dunning.  She was the last of a large, respected and courageous family, four of her brothers serving gallantly in the Civil War.

   In her youth, her musical talent and ability gave her much prominence as a teacher and singer.  Her sunny personality and interest in people brought her many warm friendships, lasting through the many years of her life.

   She is survived by one grandson and several nieces and nephews.  Burial was made in the family plot at East McDonough.
