Bliven Child Dies of Appendicitis

Elma Mae Bliven, five-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bliven of Preston, died at the Binghamton City Hospital Tuesday afternoon where she had been taken for an emergency operation for appendicitis. Her condition was so serious that she died before surgeons could operate.
The little girl attended school at Preston Friday and was taken ill Saturday. Surviving besides her parents, are one sister, Arlene, 11; and two brothers, Seth, 9 and Owen 7.
Funeral services in charge of F. W. Seymour & son, will be held at the home Saturday afternoon, Dec. 4, at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Robert Webster, pastor of the Preston Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be made in the J. D. Lewis cemetery.

Elma Mae Bliven was the sister of recently deceased Grandfather Seth Ivan Bliven. She would have been my Great Aunt.
