VERA BROWN

Her Death Cast a Deep Gloom Over the Community in Which She Lived

   Norwich, March 6-There was so much speculation as to the circumstances of the death of Miss Vera Brown, of East Pharsalia, that her family permitted the publication of several letters written by her just previous to her death.

Oxford, Feb. 27.-Miss Very Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ceylon Brown of East Pharsalia, committed suicide Monday night at the home of Francis Curtis at Cincinnatus by taking carbolic acid and chloroform.  She was found dead in bed Tuesday morning.  She was 21 years of age and a highly esteemed lady.  She left a letter to her parents, which has not been made public.  A letter left to Mr. Curtis gave directions concerning her burial.


   Beside her parents there survive her three sisters, Mrs. Vernell Thompson, Mrs. B. D. Foster of East Pharsalia, and Miss Orrol Brown of Norwich, and a brother, Harold, who resides in the State of Washington.  She had relatives in this place also.

NOTE:  THE YEAR OF HER DEATH WAS 1908.  NO LETTERS WERE ATTACHED TO THESE ARTICLES.
