Tractor Kills Glenn Bliven
(July 6, 1963)
OXFORD - Glenn Bliven, age 64, of Star route, Oxford, died accidentally Saturday afternoon as he tried to stop his runaway tractor; while haying on his land on Bowman Lake Road.
Mr. Bliven was a member of Kelley Grange, McDonough, the Dairymen's League, the Oxford Industrial Bowling League and the Lake Steere Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Willcox Bliven; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Ardron, Jr. of Oxford, and Mrs. Stanley Bartle of Etain, France; five brothers, Lawrence, Paul and Ward, all of Oxford, Ivan of Preston and Earl of Englewood, Florida; an aunt, Mrs. Lulu Cullen of Bainbridge; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 at the Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mare Acosta of the 1st Congregational Church of Oxford officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.
