 Bert Lord Succumbs to Heart Ailment

   Bert Lord, of Afton, congressman from the 34th district including the counties of Broome, Chenango, Otsego and Delaware, died at 1:30 Wednesday morning in the Naval Hospital at Washington, D. C., after less than a week's illness of heart trouble.  He was 69 years old.  

   Funeral services will be held from the Lord home in Afton with the date to be announced later.

   Mr. Lord, during his long career in politics, served a supervisor from his home town of Afton, then as Assemblyman, from Chenango county and, prior to his election to congress, had served as state senator.  He is survived by his widow and a cousin, George E. Lord, of Binghamton.
