Mrs. Zaida Mayo
(Mar. 22, 1955)

   Mrs. Zaida Mayo, of this village, who has been living at the Chenango Valley Home in Norwich for the past year and a half, died Tuesday morning at the Chenango Memorial Hospital.  She was 71.

   A native of Oxford, she was the widow of David C. Mayo.  She was born June 29, 1883, to Charles B. and Melvina Carpenter Walker.

   Mrs. Mayo attended the Oxford Academy and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oxford.

   She is survived by a son, Cyril C. Mayo, of Oxford and Norwich; two granddaughters, Mrs. Earl Williams of North Syracuse and Mrs. George Duell of McDonough; and five great-grandsons, Jimmy, Ricky and Bobby Duell and Allan and Bradley Williams.

   Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday (today) from the Seymour Funeral Home in Oxford with the Rev. Frederick Haworth, rector of St. Paul's Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
