Hiram F. Bliss

   Hiram F. Bliss, a former resident of Oxford, died at Elmira on Saturday, July 10, aged 57 years.

   Mr. Bliss had been a resident of Bath for several years, but had been employed in a machine shop in Elmira.  He was as well as usual at noon of Saturday, but in the evening was found lying on the floor in his room.  A physician was called at once who after making an examination said death was caused by apoplexy.

   Hiram F. Bliss was born in Smithville June 25, 1863, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Henry Bliss.  He was a member of Chenango Valley Lodge, No. 213, I. O. O. F., of Oxford.  Mr. Bliss is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myra E. Bliss; three sons, Frank, Stephen and Ernest, and one brother, Clarence A. Bliss, of Buffalo.

   The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, July 13, from his late residence, on Rumsey street, Bath, Rev. David Evans officiating.  The burial was made in Nondaga Cemetery.
