Edward Miles Retires As Nightwatchman at The Home Aged 75
Edward Miles, nightwatchman at the W. R. C. Home, will relinquish that position February 1, having reached the age of 75 years. Mr. Miles' birthday occurred January 23 when he was presented with gifts from his friends at the home totaling over $100. Saturday evening he was one of the honored guests at a dance held for members and employees and Sunday a beautiful birthday cake, decorated with his name and age, was presented him.
Mr. Miles has been employed at the home as nightwatchman for the past ten years. His entire life has been spent in this town. He will move from the Home next week and for the present will board with Mr. and Mrs. Nelson McNitt. His place as nightwatchman will be taken by Walter Cook, who comes from the vicinity of Elmira.
