MRS. MERRITT M. LEWIS
(1944)

   Mrs. Hattie B. Lewis, 74, wife of Merritt M. Lewis, died Monday January 31, at her home in Greene.

   Besides her husband, Merritt M. Lewis, she is survived by four sons, Lawrence M. Lewis of Oxford, Fred C. and Russell V. Lewis both of Johnson City and Myron Lewis of Port Dickinson; two daughters, Miss Charlotte Lewis of Utica and Mrs. Kenneth Peters of Greene, a granddaughter, Mrs. Florence Klett of Johnson City, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

   Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Methodist church of Greene and assistant chairman of the Red Cross of Greene.

   Services were held from the home Thursday, February 3, at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Robert Stall, pastor of the Methodist church officiating, assisted by Rev. Stanley Lewis.  Burial was made in McDonough.

ANOTHER NOTE:  THE SURVIVORS LISTED AS GRANDDAUGHTER AND TEN GRANDCHILDREN ARE AS THEY APPEAR IN THE ARTICLE.
