Jesse T. Burgess, age 60 years, a life long resident of Brisben, was instantly killed Saturday afternoon, August 18, when the tractor, which he was driving and on which Mrs. Burgess was riding to the hayfield near Chenango River, tipped over pinning Mr. Burgess under it.  Mrs. Burgess escaped injury.

Mr. Burgess was always interested in any plans for the betterment of our community and will be greatly missed by his farmer neighbors as well as others.
