George Lorimer

Friends and neighbors of George Lorimer were shocked to learn of his death at his home on March 7, although he had been in very poor health for a number of years.
Mr. Lorimer was born in Dairy, Scotland, August 6, 1866. He came to Norwich with his parents when he was a small boy, where he lived until 1886.
He then came to Shumway Hill in the town of Guilford. On Christmas day in 1906, he was united in marriage to Maude Carkhuff. To this union were born eight children, of whom seven are living. James died in infancy.
Surviving are his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Cruikshank and Miss Gladys Lorimer of Binghamton, Mrs. Robert Bidwell of Norwich; four sons, Barton, Donald, Duane and Floyd of Guilford, also two sisters, Mrs. Claude Curtis of Guilford, and Mrs. Lewis Aldrich of Rockwells Mills.
Funeral services were held in the Guilford Center church Sunday, March 10, at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. David Ayers officiating. Burial will be made at the North Guilford cemetery in the spring.
