Mrs. Mary Loomis

   With the close of 1912 came the sad but peaceful end of Mrs. Mary Loomis, of West Bainbridge.  Surrounded by loving and sympathetic friends this aged and respected woman on December, 31, 1912, passed from earthly labors to heavenly rewards:

   Mrs. Loomis was born in Richfield Springs, April 28, 1828.  When she was twelve years of age her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis West, came to Bainbridge.  In the year, 1847, Jan. 20th, she was united in marriage to A. Loomis.  For nearly half a century they lived together, he passing into the great beyond a few years ago.  A few months ago the deceased friend went to Deposit and lived with her son, Albert G. Loomis.  Here she was taken ill and after several weeks of suffering and receiving the tend, loving ministry of her daughter, Mrs. L. Sweet, and other friends, she entered into rest.

   Mrs. Loomis was a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and in all her trials, pain and suffering was sustained and comforted by the grace and presence of the blessed Christ.  Her faith and hope have found full fruition in the land of unclouded sky.  The funeral services were held from the Methodist Episcopal Church Jan. 2d, 1913, and were in charge of Rev. Frank James, and interment was made in the West Bainbridge cemetery.

  The deceased is survived by a son and daughter, Albert G. Loomis, of Deposit, and Mrs. L. Sweet, of West Bainbridge.

"Fill, brief or long, my granted years
Of life with love to these and Man;
Strike when thou wilt, the hour of rest,

But let my last days be my best."
