MOSES EBER WOOSTER

Prominent Farmer of Oxford Dies After Illness of About Two Months

Moses Eber Wooster died at his home on Albany street in this village on Saturday, January 15, 1921, aged 86 years.

Mr. Wooster was the son of Moses Wooster and Esther Ensworth Wooster, and was born in the town of Smithville October 13, 1834.  His father was a farmer of that town.  His mother was a resident of Rhode Island.  His early life was spent on the farm where he followed the usual custom of the day, alternating attendance at school with work on the farm.  He learned farm work in all its diversity and became in after life, one of the successful and prominent farmers of this town.

Mr. Wooster was twice married, his first wife was Miss Alice E. Beardsley, of Delhi, who he married at Delhi in April, 1879.  She died in September 1911, and on September 24, 1913 he married to Mrs. Beulah Beach of Little Marsh, Pa.

About twenty-one years ago he purchased the farm on the East River road, a short distance above the village, which he farmed until advanced years and failing health compelled him to retire.  He then made his home on Albany street, his residence at the time of his death.  A little less than two months ago he suffered a slight shock but did not discontinue all activities until another and more severe shock compelled him to remain in the house, and later confined to his bed.

He is survived by two sons, by his first wife, George, who resides on the home farm, and R. H. Wooster, of Canton, Ohio.  His funeral services were held from his home on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. J. C. Chambers, pastor of the Congregational church, of which Mr. Wooster was a member, officiating.  Burial was made in Riverview cemetery.
