DEATH OF L. B. WARD
(JUNE 12, 1911)
Occurred Monday at His Home on Albany Street from Heart Trouble
The death of Lora B. Ward occurred about 10:30 o'clock Monday morning at his home on Albany street from heart trouble. Mr. Ward had been confined to the house only a short time, and it was not generally known that his condition was serious until within a few days.
Mr. War was born in McDonough in June 1841, and was the son of James and Deborah Calvert Ward. For many years he was engaged in farming, and lived on Panther Hill and also occupied the Daniel Walker farm on East Hill. For about twenty years he has resided in this village. He was in the employ of the late Dr. Douglas for a time, and later worked in the basket factory. For many years up to the time of his death he was driver for Dr. DeWitt Hitchcock.
Mr. Ward was united in marriage to Clarissa Church, daughter of Lyman and Hepseveth Church of Smithville, who survive him. He also is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ray Walker, and one son, Charles J. Ward of this village.
The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the house. Burial in Riverview cemetery.
