VICTORIOUS PLAYERS
Oxford Press, Friday August 15, 1902
The Oxford Tigers, who have been playing remarkably good base ball this season, went to New Berlin Tuesday and beat the New Berlin nine by a score of 13-1. The game throughout was marked by good individual playing and good team work. To-day the Tigers are to play the Oxford Stars, the nine that recently defeated Smithville. A number of good games are in prospect. Sidney and Whitesboro are both making arrangements to meet the Oxford players. Marathon, which has a nine that has been beaten only once this season, is trying to get up an excursion to Oxford on Aug. 26th, hoping to bring at least 200 people to see the struggle between the two crack teams. If this arrangement should be completed our people may look for an interesting day.
