Charles Mowry

Charles Mowry died at his home on Midland street Saturday morning, March 30, after a year of failing health. He had been confined to his bed about a week.
Mr. Morwy was born in Oxford October 2, 1844, and was the son of Solomon and Abagail Havens Mowry. He was united in marriage at Unadilla to Miss Augusta Brewer on September 25, 1865. Soon after their marriage they began housekeeping on a farm on the Virginia road where they remained until a few years ago, when they removed to a smaller place on Midland street.
Two children were born to them, Fred Mowry, who died several years ago, and one daughter, Miss Fannie A. Mowry, who is the only survivor. Mrs. Mowry died eight years ago.
Mr. Mowry had been a member of the Oxford Baptist church 63 years and a deacon of the church 22 years.
The funeral was held at the home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. B. A. Gates, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating. Burial was made in Riverview cemetery.
