GAGE E. TARBELL

   Gage E. Tarbell, second vice-president of Equitable Life Assurance Society, was born in 1856 in Smithville Flats, Chenango County.  He was graduated from the Clinton Liberal Institute, and after teaching school for a year, studied law and was admitted to the bar.  He was drawn from his practice into the field of life insurance, and is considered one of the best executives of one of the large companies.

   He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Lawyers' Club, Marine and Field Club, Colonial Club, Union League Club, New York Athletic Club, Atlantic Yacht Club, Ardsley Club, Dyker Meadow Golf Club, New-York Riding Club and Suburban Riding and Driving Club.
