D. R. Eells

D. R. Eells, aged 77 years, died at his home on Mechanic street Tuesday following a long period of ill health. He was the son of Edward and Juliette Bennett Eells and one of twelve children of which only two sisters survive.
His early life was spent in Coventry where he was married October 19, 1875 to Miss Sarah C. Hartwell. Five children were born to them. A son, Harry, died when about three years of age.
For eleven years Mr. and Mrs. Eells lived in Guilford and the rest of their life has been spent in and about Oxford.
Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Olin A. Kirkland, Sherburne Four Corners; Mrs. Lynn S. Geer, Earlville; Mrs. Chester U. Bartle, Oxford and Mrs. Dewane B. Hills, Smyrna. There are also six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Emily Jacobs of Binghamton and Mrs. John H. Mangold of Coventry also survive.
The funeral will be held this afternoon at the home at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Will Bates officiating. Burial will be made in Gospel Hill cemetery, Guilford.
