MRS. ADALINE HARTWELL
Life of Aged Christian Lady Terminated on the Farm Where She Was Born
In Coventry at midnight of November 26, 1926, on the farm where she was born and in the house that had been her home nearly all her life occurred the death of Mrs. Adaline Hartwell.
Mrs. Hartwell was born January 9, 1845, the daughter of Morty Tuberty and his wife, Zilpha Loomis Tuberty. On January 9, 1865 she was married to Miles Hartwell of Oxford, who died September 23, 1912.
Early in their married life they united with the Baptist church at East Oxford and for many years were actively engaged in all affairs of church and Sunday School: In later years she became a member of the Union Valley Methodist church, the church of her parents, which she attended in early life.
The pastor, the Rev. Lathrop, of Afton officiated at the funeral which was held Monday afternoon. It was attended by many relatives, neighbors and friends, nearly all of whom could look back to many pleasant occasions enjoyed in that home in years long since past. Most of the associates of other years have passed on before, but a few were present to pay a last tribute of respect and love to the friend of a life time, and see her laid away to rest beside the husband and parents in the cemetery at West Bainbridge.
The nearest surviving relatives are a few cousins and several nephews and nieces of her husband, who will always hold "Aunt Addie" in most loving remembrance.
