OBITUARY
Mrs. Maryetta Smith
Mrs. Maryetta Smith, 78, died at the Chenango Memorial Hospital Wednesday at 6 p.m., after an illness of two months' duration. Mrs. Smith had been a resident of Norwich for about five years.
Born in Guilford on July 10, 1853, she spent all of her life in that community until her removal here in 1926. Mrs. Smith was a member of Christ Episcopal church of Guilford.
Surviving are five sons and two daughters, Mrs. Willard Truesdell, Mrs. Fred Coville, M. J. Smith and Guy Smith of Norwich, Herbert and Hugh Smith of Guilford, and Leon Smith of Johnson City; three sisters, Mrs. LaVerne Smith and Mrs. George Havens of Guilford, and Mrs. Carolyne Mogg of Johnson City; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A private prayer service will be conducted by Rev. L. S. Charters at the home of Mrs. Truesdell, 6 Division street, Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The body will be taken to Guilford, where the funeral will be held from Christ Episcopal church at 2:30, with the Rev. Scull, rector, officiating. Burial will be made in Sunset Hill cemetery.
